and Brooks is excited to have a new friend.

Brooks is a HUGE cuddler. He snuggles, scratches necks and plays with hair. He's gotten into a habit of needing to fall asleep cuddling and if he wakes up without anyone there he'll cry out. We're trying to break this habit but that's easier said than done. Anyway, sometimes there is a makeshift solution...Operation Sock Monkey:

when I get up I quickly replace myself with the monkey...

sometimes it works...sometimes it doesn't...

but when he starts playing with sock monkey's hair I'm usually good to go.

the nursing home...

Brooks loves the nursing home and he really loves two particular people: Ernest and Hezekiah. When he sees them he stretches out his arms to them making it known he wants them to hold him. He even lets them take him out of the room where he disappears without making a noise or shedding a tear. The other day I looked out of Keith's room to see Brooks hanging out at the nurses station smiling and playing on the counter.


A little while later I kept hearing laughing and giggling and adults speaking in baby voices in the break room across the hall from Keith. When I looked at the nurses station I noticed he was no longer there. I poked my head in the break room and saw this...

there he was hanging out having a grand old time.

a lunch date...

Wait...I thought we were meeting up with your high school friends...

then why is Julia here!?!?!?...

haha - you and Aunt Tiffany went to school together?!?!?...

and Kati's part of this group too!?!?!?...

I love everything about this arrangement...

and I love my new friends.

BFFL...

I love going out with friends...especially Amy...

and Karin...

wait...what's that???...more kids and we're playing tomorrow?!?!?!...

this is a dream come true!!!...

kids my same age to play with!!!...

and even one I might have a crush on...you know how I love cougars...

I love playing with these kids...

they're my BFFL...literally.

grandma's birthday...

We're going out for Grandma's birthday!?!?!?

oh boy!!!...that means lots of kisses...
